Interbridge Mortgages Limited (‘IML’) is a start-up Financial Services provider specialising in second-charge mortgages. It aims to become the UK’s market leader in this sector within 2 years from launch
Objective
Support the Board and IML’s Executive Committee with achievement of all non-technology aspects of business readiness.

Reporting to the CEO, I worked closely with the Executive Committee and financial backers of this venture to develop and commence execution of a detailed plan that achieved the desired outcome of operational readiness by mid-December 2023.
• I managed responses to the FCA for all additional information requests following submission of the Firm’s Regulatory Business Plan earlier this year,
• I oversaw contracts related to the Firm’s new premises and fit-out of the building.
• I engaged with management to develop and commence hiring activities against an agreed Target Operating Model
• I worked with management and ExCo to develop a cohesive and fit-for-purpose suite of policies and procedures.
• I managed dependencies between the business and the technology build team.
Detailed planning was completed in June 2023, with the Firm on track to achieve its operational readiness aspirations. Priority was then to ensure any additional information requests received from the regulator were managed efficiently and thoroughly, to minimise any delays to launch which may arise from failing to achieve necessary regulatory approvals and certification of Senior Managers as part of SMCR and hiring of the core resources needed to allow trading to commence.
Result
As a result of meticulous planning, Interbridge Mortgages launched successfully in Q1 2024 and has already exceeded it’s business plan projections for year one. It is on track to achieve it’s ambition to become the UK’s market leader in this sector within 2 years .
